Across Western Victoria Worn Gundidj provides a sensible link between the wholesale nursery and revegetation projects. Our nursery with a capacity of over 400,000 units PA generates in excess of 150 varieties of native plants including food and potted colour. Worn Gundidj Aboriginal Cooperative herein known as Ngalawoort Nursery has developed over several years to consist of three core business activities; sales of potted colour, sales of native plants, and environmental rehabilitation and services. Primarily as a result of water shortages in metropolitan areas, the market for potted colour has now diminished significantly, leaving native sales and environmental services as the primary activities of the nursery.
The nursery has developed unique expertise in environmental rehabilitation, and the link between environmental services and the wholesale nursery is seen as a competitive advantage to Worn Gundidj. The demand for these services comes from local government, state and commonwealth government agencies, and mining and agricultural sector customers.
