Follow the signposts or pick up a map from the visitors centre and take one of the self-guided walks. Some walks are just an easy stroll, while others are more strenuous, and each has a different theme.
  • Peak Climb
    Take the steep path to the highest peak and enjoy the breathtaking view over the whole expanse of Tower Hill, north to the rich farmlands of Koroit and south to Killarney and the Southern Ocean. (30 minutes, steep)
  • Lava Tongue Boardwalk
    A leisurely stroll along the boardwalk will give you the chance to observe close up the birds, insects and vegetation of the wetland area. (30 minutes, easy)
  • Hat Island Habitat Track
    Follow the trail among the blackwoods, gums, wattles and sheoaks and the growing diversity of plant life reintroduced under an ongoing revegetation program. (45 minutes, easy)
  • Whurrong Walk
    Learn about the bush plants used for food by the Aboriginal people of the area. (1 hour, easy)
  • Journey to the Last Volcano
    Learn more about the origins of Tower Hill and what makes it one of the most remarkable geological features of the Western Victorian volcanic plain. (1 hour, moderate)
